You’ve probably seen some people on social media that claim they make five or six figures per month by using “YouTube Automation” or “Faceless YouTube Channels“. Essentially, they produce videos without showing their face and without creating videos by themselves, and generate money from ads. Is it all it’s cracked up to be? I’ve also been curious about it since I’ve been seeing these guys promote their stuff so hard on social media, so I’ve dug deep into it…
What is it all about?
In a nutshell, Faceless YouTube automation is a business model where you create a YouTube channel and publish videos about popular topics that don’t personally involve you. You can combine images and video clips from other channels or stock photography sites. The business model involves outsourcing tasks such as: scriptwriting, video editing, voiceovers, and thumbnail creation to freelancers.
Essentially, your role is to manage the channel while a team of professionals handles everything for you.
Many refer to it as “Faceless YouTube Automation” specifically, as the idea is that you can make money on YouTube without ever recording a video filming yourself. This is in contrast to the top-earning YouTube channels like Mr. Beast or Jake Paul that do show themsleves in their videos.
This method involves creating content such as compilations, tutorials, or listicles where your face or voice aren’t actually needed. You hire freelancers for content creation, and you focus on managing the business side of things, including coordinating with your team, providing them with ideas, doing some SEO, marketing ideas, and promotion.
How Much Money Can You Make with YouTube Automation?
Once your account, is monetized, you will start earning from ads that people see while they watch your videos.
Getting monetized can be challeging and that’s where most beginners give up. Your channel needs to get 1,000 subscribers, and 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months.
At this stage, you’re eligible for YouTube’s Partner Program, which allows you to earn from ads.
Now, if you’re wondering how much money you can earn from your videos, the answer is that it all depends on your niche and the watch metrics of your videos.
On average, 1,000 subscribers could earn you anywhere from $3 to $5 per 1,000 video views through ad revenue, though as we said earlier this amount can vary depending on factors like your audience demographics and niche.
If one of your videos hits 1 million views, the earnings can vary based on your niche and the engagement levels. For a typical YouTube video, 1 million views can generate around $2,000 to $4,000 from ad revenue. However, in high-paying niches (like finance, tech, or business), this number could be higher, sometimes reaching up to $10,000 or more for 1 million views.
When a video racks up 100 million views, the potential revenue from YouTube ad earnings could be substantial. Based on average CPM rates (cost per thousand views), 100 million views could bring in between $200,000 to $400,000, depending on the niche and engagement levels.
How to Do YouTube Automation Step by Step
- Select a Niche: Choose a niche, ideally with high CPM potential, such as finance, tech, or health.
- Set Up the Channel: Create a YouTube channel optimized with relevant keywords and branding.
- Outsource: Use platforms like Fiverr or Upwork to hire freelancers for video creation, voiceovers, and editing. If you have the skills to do it yourself, it’s even better as you won’t need to spend money to produce the videos.
- Upload & Optimize: Regularly upload videos and optimize them with SEO-friendly titles, descriptions, great thumbnails, and tags. YouTube Automation experts generally recommend posting 2-3 videos per week when you start.
- Monetize: Once you hit 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours, apply for the YouTube Partner Program to start earning ad revenue.
- Scale: Create more channels or increase upload frequency to maximize earnings. Analyze which videos are generating the most engagement (views, comments) and do more of those types of videos in the future.
Best YT Automation Coaches
If you need more details about this business model, or want some help when it comes to building your team of script writers, video producers and voiceover artists, you may need to hire a coach. Here are the top ones I’ve found during my research:
Chems
- Twitter/X: Chems (84k followers)
- Telegram: Faceless Chems (36k subscribers)
- Course price: $2,400

This French kid seems like he knows what he’s doing. He earned multiple YouTube awards for his prolific channels. He also regularly shares proof of revenue on his social media accounts.
His coaching program will show you exactly how to earn money through faceless YT channels, step by step. He will also provide you with a pre-monetized YouTube channel and hook you up with an offshore team that will handle video creation for you. You just have to provide topic ideas and manage the team. (At least, that’s what I gather from everything I’ve read about him)
That said, thread carefully, there are some negative reviews about him on Reddit, such as this one, this one or this one.
Razvan (Grow Channels)
- Instagram: Razvan Paraschiv (1.2 Million Followers)
- YouTube: Razvan (45k Subscribers)
- Course Price: $7,000 to $8,000

Another popular coach that has shown some pretty impressive results from his own experience with faceless YouTube channels.
His coaching program is very similar. Unlike Chems who’s mostly active on X.com and Telegram, Razvan is very active on Instagram and YouTube. He also shares proof of revenue, some valuable tips, and interviews with some of his successful students.
However, just like Chems, Razvan and Grow Channels do have some negative comments on Reddit, like this one.
Other coaches you can look into include:
Caleb Boxx – Caleb is one of the most prominent figures in the YouTube automation space. He runs a program called YouTube Automation Mentorship and offers training to teach people how to create faceless YouTube channels and scale them for passive income.
Matt Par – Founder of the Tube Mastery and Monetization course, Matt teaches how to grow and automate faceless YouTube channels and scale them to earn passive income through YouTube ad revenue.
David Omari – David is another popular YouTube automation expert who runs the YouTube Automation Playbook. He shares strategies on creating successful YouTube automation businesses and running multiple faceless channels.
Paul Hilse – Known for his YouTube Automation Academy, Paul focuses on teaching his students how to run and automate channels, offering insights on outsourcing and growing the business.
BEWARE: Do your due diligence and compare the prices and offerings of many different coaches. Don’t pay high prices for a coaching program and don’t fall for anyone that promises you “guaranteed returns”. While YouTube Automation is a legitimate business model that can help you generate some extra income from the Google Adsense program, or though affiliate marketing, it isn’t easy and takes a lot of hard work and consistency. This means that you won’t make thousands of dollars overnight. In fact, you may never earn any substantial money from this strategy at all, so think twice before spending thousands of dollars on a coaching program.
Conclusion – My Honest Thoughts
Honestly, I’m NOT sure “how easy” it is to make this work and earn money doing this. The YouTube landscape does seem quite competitive to me.
I don’t believe that there is any easy to make money on the Internet. All of them will require hard work and consistency. For instance, I’ve covered how to make money as an affiliate marketer by promoting gold companies previously on this blog, and I can tell you right off the bat that it wasn’t easy to make money in that niche either. It took me 1 full year before I started earning decent commissions.
That said, Faceless YouTube Automation seems like a “fun way” to make money, especially if you pick a niche that you enjoy…
If you have some extra time and/or money to throw at a coaching program, I’d say it’s worth giving it a try. However, if depend on this to work to pay rent or make ends meet, please do yourself a favor and stay away from it. You’d be better off finding a job.
Again, I’m skeptical about how easy it is to hit the huge numbers these “coaches” are promising we can make, but I’m also quite optimistic about video creation in general, as I think YouTube and other video networks are poised to keep growing, which means more opportunities ahead for video creators that can find buzzworthy video topics and produce high-quality videos covering such topics.
